The Light Your Guide installation is built around the encounter between moving beams and dynamic surfaces. Here, light is explored as a conduit in our search for inner truth.

Light Your Guide offers a multi-sensory, immersive experience. We see the light, we touch the light, we hear the music of light, breathe in its scent, and decode its messages.

Light and motion were orchestrated using a hybrid control setup with GrandMA2 and Hog4 consoles.

Technology

At the heart of the installation lies what we call "the lens" — a lenticular raster, composed of convex micro-lenses. Acting like a Fresnel lens, it redirects the beams and shifts focal points. The effect forms the basis of the piece’s signature visual language. Made of lightweight plastic rather than glass, the lens reduces fragility while maintaining optical impact.

The Central Element

Crystals

The crystals are glass prisms arranged in cubes and coated with a dichroic layer. They act as interference filters, splitting light into distinct wavelengths, refracting its flow into a cascade of colors.

The installation is reactive. Audience presence activates sonic layers. OptiTrack Prime 13W cameras track floor markers; when a marker is stepped on, a sound is triggered. The placement of markers aligns with laser paths, so interaction often occurs where light and human meet.

Interaction: Encountering Light

The multimedia sequence unfolds over 7 chapters, each one minute long. Together, they reveal different facets of how lasers, crystals, and dynamic surfaces can engage and transform. A custom musical score runs in parallel, evolving with the visuals, resonating with the arc of the experience.

Narrative

Throughout the installation, a bespoke fragrance is dispersed, both through diffusers and manual application of pure essential oils. This scent is an integral layer of the immersive atmosphere.

A four-point speaker system surrounds the space, creating a quadraphonic sound field. This spatial audio setup places the viewer in the center of the sonic tapestry, amplifying immersion.

Here, light is truth — a current flowing through matter, inseparable from it. When it touches the skin, it syncs the inner and outer. A beam may distort or cut deep within, expanding our grasp of reality.

Philosophy

The labor of light within us begins with a choice: to seek inner truth. And in that moment, a path is revealed. The installation is structured as a seven-stage journey, each chapter a transformation, each a standalone moment and a fragment of a whole:

The Path of Light

To follow the Guide-Light is to move toward your truth — and from there, into embodiment. The fragrance at the heart of the installation is a dialogue between two contrasting notes: frankincense and lime.

Frankincense catalyzes deep spiritual work, aligning us with the energy of Creation.
Lime sparks awakening, energizing realization, connecting us with the pulse of Life.

Together, they bridge the space of ideas and the act of becoming. We sense our inner truth and see where to go in the outer world.
